Print file checker

Add a PDF, AI, JPG, PNG, TIFF or SVG and see in seconds whether it's ready: size, bleed, resolution, colours and fonts. The check runs in your browser - the file isn't sent anywhere.

What a well-prepared file looks like
  • 3 mm bleed - cut off
  • Trim line - finished size
  • Safe zone - keep text and logos inside

File check

Pick the technique and size, then add your file. The check runs only in your browser - the file isn't sent anywhere and nobody sees it.

    What the check looks at

    • Size

Whether the file matches the chosen size or is to scale, and whether it's turned.

    • Bleed

Whether there's 3 mm of bleed - from the PDF boxes (TrimBox/BleedBox) or the file size.

    • Resolution

How many dpi each image has at actual print size, and how big it can go while staying sharp.

    • Colour

CMYK or RGB, and whether the file has Pantone (spot) colours.

    • Fonts

Whether fonts are embedded in the PDF, or text in an SVG is converted to outlines.

    • Vector or image

Whether the logo is vector - important for engraving and embroidery - and has a transparent background.

    Templates to download

PDF templates with the bleed, trim and safe zone marked. Open one in the program you use, put your design over it and delete the guide lines before sending. Roll-up graphic sizes depend on the stand - ask us.

    Frequently asked questions

Is my file sent anywhere when I check it?

No. The check runs in your browser, on your own computer or phone - the file isn't sent or stored anywhere. You send it to us only when you decide to.

    Which files can I check?

PDF, AI (saved with PDF compatibility), JPG, PNG, TIFF and SVG. We accept EPS and CDR files but can't check them in the browser - send a PDF along with them.

If the check says the file is ready, is everything definitely fine?

The check covers the technical side - size, bleed, resolution, colours and fonts. It can't see whether text is too close to the edge or spot typos, so we also look the file over before printing and get back to you if anything needs changing.

How do I send a large file?

Send a link to the file (WeTransfer, Google Drive or Dropbox) by email or in your inquiry.

Not sure which technique you need?

Send us the item and your logo - we'll suggest the technique that will look best and last the longest.
